On the evening of July 29, 2026 (U.S. time), corresponding to the early morning of July 30, 2026 (Vietnam time), Nguyen Mai Chi, a student from the International School, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU), won the Gold Medal in the Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) category at the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) held in Anaheim, California, USA.

From July 26 to 29, 2026, the Vietnamese national team, comprising nine national champions, competed in the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) 2026 and the Adobe Certified Professional World Championship (ACPWC) 2026.
Vietnam Maritime University was proudly represented by two national champions: Nguyen Mai Chi, a student of class IBL64DH, National Champion in Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps); and Pham Duc Dung, a student of class CNT65DH, National Champion in Microsoft Word (Microsoft 365 Apps).
Nguyen Mai Chi delivered an outstanding performance to win the World Gold Medal in Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps). Her remarkable achievement not only brought honor to Vietnam Maritime University and the Vietnamese national team but also increased Vietnam’s total medal tally at the MOS World Championship to 26 medals, including 6 Gold Medals. The result once again demonstrates the excellence, digital competence, and global competitiveness of Vietnamese students on the international stage.
During the visit to the United States, the University's Delegation also attended the Pearson’s Global Partner Summit (GPS) 2026 and held working sessions with senior representatives of Certiport and Pearson to discuss international certification programs, digital skills development, global education trends, and future cooperation in educational assessment and digital transformation.

During the summit, Vietnam Maritime University was honored with the "A Legacy of MOS Excellence and Digital Talent Development" commemorative award in recognition of its long-standing contributions to promoting digital skills development and its outstanding achievements in nurturing multiple MOS National Champions who have represented Vietnam at the World Championship and earned remarkable international success.
This outstanding achievement further demonstrates the quality of education and training at Vietnam Maritime University as well as the University's commitment to developing graduates with strong digital competencies, professional expertise, and global competitiveness. It also reaffirms VMU's position as one of Vietnam's leading universities in digital skills education and international integration.
