Vietnam Maritime University welcomed and held working session with Korean Partners

On June 30, 2026, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) welcomed representatives from Pukyong National University, the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Engineering Cooperative (KOSEC), and the Korea Disaster and Safety Industrial Technology Research Association (SAFRA) for a working session to discuss potential cooperation in education, training, and scientific research.

Overview of the working session

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice President of VMU, introduced the University's training and research capacities, as well as its strategic development orientations, particularly its goal of becoming a national key university. He emphasized that VMU is actively expanding international cooperation with partners around the world, with strengthening collaboration with Korean institutions identified as one of the University's strategic priorities.

Representatives of the Korean institutions expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by VMU. They introduced their organizations' strengths and expertise, highly valued the University’s potential for cooperation, and expressed their desire to promote collaboration through student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and academic cooperation, particularly in the fields of green maritime technologies, green shipping, shipbuilding, and sustainable maritime transport.

The meeting laid the groundwork for future cooperation

The meeting further strengthened the cooperative relationship between Vietnam Maritime University and its Korean partners, opening up new opportunities for collaboration in education, training, scientific research, and technological development in the years ahead.
