On November 17th 2025, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) warmly welcomed the Delegation of Shanghai Maritime University (SMU).
On this occasion, VMU Vice President Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Duc reaffirmed the importance of enhancing international cooperation in education and scientific research, especially collaboration with SMU. He emphasized that this partnership plays a crucial role in improving VMU’s education and research quality in accordance with Decision No. 1901/QĐ-TTg dated September 5th, 2025, by the Prime Minister on the approval of the project on developing Vietnam Maritime University into a national key university for training and research to serve the sustainable development of the seaward economy in the period to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

SMU Vice President Prof. Cao Rongrui highlighted the traditional cooperation between the two Universities, which has been established for more than 20 years, as well as VMU’s remarkable achievements in recent years.

After the working session, the Vice President of Vietnam Maritime University signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Vice President of Shanghai Maritime University, fostering a collaborative relationship through student and faculty exchanges, research cooperation, joint training programs, and academic material exchange.
