In the afternoon 19th Feb 2019, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The visited and worked at Vietnam Maritime University. Together with are leaders of Maritime Bureau, other bureaus, ministry departments, offices of the transport. On the side of Vietnam Maritime University, there were attendances of Ass.Prof., Dr. Pham Xuan Duong – Acting President; Ass.Prof., Dr. Le Quoc Tien – The Party Secretary, Vice President of University; Ass.Prof., Dr. Nguyen Viet Thanh - President of University Council; other comrades in Party Executive Committee, Administrators, Union Executive Committee, Youth Union, Ministers of Departments, all lecturers, officers and 200 representative students in 13.500 learners of University.
During the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van The visited some research centers, technical projects, emulating rooms for teaching job at University; concurrently, he had a talk with all officers, lectures, students of University at the conference hall A8.
After the short summary history of Vietnam Maritime University’s development of Ass.Prof., Dr. Pham Xuan Duong; the report on University Party Committee works of Ass.Prof., Dr. Le Quoc Tien – The Party Secretary, Vice President of University and the talk on operating situation of University Council of Ass.Prof., Dr. Nguyen Viet Thanh – President of University Council, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The gave a speech in front of all university’s officers, lecturers, students .
Going through 63 years constructing and developing, Minister recorded and congratulated the achievements of teachers and students of Vietnam Maritime University; simultaneously, he pointed directions in the age of 4.0 industry revolution to the development of Vietnam Maritime University. And our university needs preparation for the newest trends of other Maritime Universities which are on top of the world to attract more learners all around the world.
The Minister stressed: Nowadays, VMU has had a significant attraction in recruitment work and output quality of learners, so that the university needs to concentrate on education quality, more invest in advanced infrastructures to serve for teaching, pay attention to invest in quality of staffs with international standard, improve international links; specially, support students after graduation to find jobs and organize educating fields which could be put in practice.
On behalf of all officers, lecturers, staffs, learners, Assoc.Prof., Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of Party committee, Acting President appreciated the special meeting between Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The and Vietnam Maritime University. It was a motivation for the university's teachers and students improving and becoming one of the training center providing high quality human resources on top of ASEAN in related directly to Maritime business field.
