On 26th November 2014, People's Teacher,Prof.,Dr. Luong Cong Nho- President of VMU welcomed and worked with Mrs Nienke Trooster – Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam. Along with the delegation were Mr Bernhard Kelkes – the first Secretary Economic and Commercial Affairs and Mrs Vu Thi Diep – Senior Trade Advisor.
At the meeting, Mrs Nienke Trooster was interested in cooperation between Vietnam Maritime University and the Kingdom of the Netherlands as well as the strong growth of many Dutch companies at Hai Phong City. A number of enterprises are willing to cooperate with VMU in shipbuilding. The Kingdom of the Netherlands is going to send a delegation to investigate the field of development cooperation next March, they are interested in cooperation with the city government, scientific institutes, universities, and enterprises of Dutch as well as Vietnamese.
Exchange at the meeting, Prof.,Dr. Nho confirmed that the potential cooperation between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and VMU was great for both sides to continue and promote development cooperation in shipbuilding. He desired Netherlands enterprises in Hai Phong to become stronger and develop, invest more in the city, especially Vietnam Maritime University./.
